A Farewell to Butterflies: Red Ball Denver 2012

I have finished sketching for the butterfly collection. I really like the direction my designs have gone in. I wanted to stay true to the concept of the butterflies while still keeping a 70s rock aesthetic. I really found inspiration from Cher's 70s looks as well as 70s rockers like Aerosmith and Heart. Since I have finished sketching for the collection, I've been working on a couple of pieces. One of the pieces I'm working on is a black and white striped tulle dress. It looks like a pretty butterfly dress but it still has a rock edge to it. The project is still in progress. Here are some pictures of what I've done so far.

The Butterfly effect




It's been a while since I've last created anything. For some reason I couldn't get inspired at all. So I had to do my ritual of listening to hours of Aerosmith to see if I could get the creative juices flowing and try to uncover a design.
